Most of us bank or use mobile money. Very few of us have credit.
Lenders here mostly hear about the payments people miss. The years you paid on time hardly count. OneScore changes that.
No more copies at every counter
ID copy, proof of residence, payslip. You prove it once and you are done.
Your good habits count
Rent, water and electricity paid on time now work in your favour.
You see who looked
Every check on your record shows up in your access log.
87in 100 adults use a formal financial service
What you can do with OneScore
Use the app, or go to a counter if you prefer. All of it is free.
Prove who you are once
Enrol with your national ID, a selfie and your phone. After that, lenders you approve can use your verified details, so you stop making copies for every office.
See your report and score
Every account and every check on your record, your score with the reasons behind it, and how much of your monthly income already goes to repayments.
Say yes or no
No lender sees your record unless you approve it, in the app or with a one-time PIN sent to your phone.
Know when something changes
You get an alert when an account is added or falls behind, when a negative listing is coming or cleared, and when someone checks your file.
Fix what is wrong
Spot a loan you never took or a payment wrongly marked late? Dispute it from the alert and follow it until it is sorted.
Freeze your file
Lost your ID? Freeze your file so nobody can open new credit in your name. Unfreeze it when you are ready.
How your score is worked out
A number from 100 to 900, with the reasons written in plain words. No secrets: every score can be checked exactly if you dispute it.
- Paying on time counts, not only the payments you missed.
- No loans yet? Your water and electricity payments can count instead.
- Each lender still decides. A good score helps, but it does not guarantee a loan.

monthlyStep 5: A lender asks, you decide
When you apply for credit, the lender asks to see your record. You say yes or no on your phone.
your callStep 6: You stay informed
You hear about every change, and 20 days before anything negative becomes visible to other lenders.
20 days' notice
Something wrong? Dispute it from the alert. The lender that listed it has 5 working days to respond, and only that lender can remove it.
The one exception. The law can require information without your yes, for example a court order. Two people must approve it, and you can see it in your access log.
Rules we hold ourselves to
Free for citizens, always
Seeing, updating, disputing and freezing your record costs nothing.
No blacklisting over small debts
Amounts below a set level are never listed.
Whoever lists it, clears it
The lender that puts a negative listing on your record is the one that must correct or remove it.
Nobody pays us to send you to a lender
We earn nothing for pointing you towards any lender.

For banks, building societies, microlenders, SACCOs, insurers and mobile money operators. Household credit grew 14.4% in the year to May 20266. Lending on half the picture leads to people taking on more debt than they can carry.

Questions people ask
Can't find your answer? Send us a question or write to info@onescore.africa.
How do I join?
Register on the join page with your name and email, and your mobile number if you like. We then contact you to finish enrolment with your national ID, a selfie and your phone. It takes a few minutes.
Does it cost anything?
No. Your profile, your report, your score, alerts, disputes and freezing your file are free for citizens, always. Lenders pay for the service. You never do.
I have never had a loan. Can I still get a score?
Yes. If you have no loan history, paying your water bill and buying electricity regularly can count instead. Upload your proof of payment and we check it.
Who can see my information?
Only the lenders you say yes to, and only for the application you said yes to. The one exception is a request the law requires, such as a court order. Those need two people to approve them, they are logged, and you can see them in your own access log.
Will a good score get me a loan?
Not on its own. Your score helps a lender understand how you handle credit, but every lender makes its own decision.
Something on my record is wrong. What do I do?
Raise a dispute straight from the alert. The lender that put it there has 5 working days to respond, and every dispute is tracked to a 10-working-day deadline. Only that lender can remove the listing.
Can a small unpaid amount get me blacklisted?
No. Small debts below a set amount are never listed.
Where is my information kept?
In Eswatini. A backup copy is kept in another SADC country so the service keeps running if something goes wrong here.
